Continuing Medical Education Certificate and Points Account for Physicians
INTERKURS - the optimum support for continuing medical education certification
PKONTO - the efficient management of further education points
Since 2004, the Sozialgesetzbuch (social welfare statute book) (SGB V §95d) has committed physicians in Germany to continuing medical education. The INTERKURS and PKONTO programs for organizers, the German medical association and physicians provide ideal software support for the entire process of certified continuing medical education, from the input of seminars on offer through to the issuance of certificates for continuing medical education points.
The administrative costs arising from certified continuing medical education are minimized. Thanks to the consistent use of modern, open information technology, the entire certification process can be supported without media discontinuity occurring. The use of INTERKURS incurs for the medical association very low costs for processing, checking and publishing offers for seminars.
The acquired points for continuing medical education are collected and administered electronically by the medical association using the PKONTO system. This results in a significant management simplification and avoids processing logjams. Physicians regularly receive information from the medical association on their current point status, and they can download their account statements via an Internet portal.
